New Website in Production for Les Alpagas de Wormeldange-Haut (Alpacas & Bees)
Technology evolves fast, and web standards move with it. What used to be “good enough” a few years ago can quickly become outdated—or even harmful—for small non-profit blogs (ASBLs), especially in terms of performance, structure, security, and maintainability. Just in time to give to Laine.lu a fresh new look.
For Les Alpagas de Wormeldange-Haut, we took this opportunity to modernize the entire web presence through three key actions:
- Redesigning the website to meet current IT expectations
- Changing the URL to match the official ASBL name
- Updating the development methodology by piloting an AI-driven workflow
1) A More Mature Website Design
When the “Alpagas de Wormeldange-Haut” project started, a simple one-page website was enough. It was clear, lightweight, and easy to maintain.
Over time, however, the association launched more initiatives, and the amount of content grew. The old structure no longer supported their needs. The new site therefore required a more mature layout, with:
- Clear sections and navigation
- Better-defined topics and categories
- A more intuitive shop experience
- A structure aligned with modern web best practices
The goal was to keep the site easy to use while making it scalable for future content and projects.
2) A URL Change for Transparency and Consistency
The original domain laine.lu has now become:
wuermer-alpakaen-a-beien.lu
This change was made to match the official name of the ASBL and reinforce transparency. Of course, we also ensured continuity:
- Both URLs remain functional
- Automatic redirects are in place, so visitors and links still work seamlessly
3) A New Methodology: Building the Site with AI (Pilot Project)
This project wasn’t only a redesign—it was also a pilot project to test a new way of building websites.
The new website was developed using AI, with the aim of offering this approach to future clients.
The request was clear:
- Migrate all content from the old website to the new one
- Redesign the site with improved structure
- Improve performance and security
- Deliver the site in WordPress
- Do it without coding and without plugins
We started by creating a mockup that defined the new structure, design, and branding. From there, we used AI to generate and assemble the new WordPress site according to these specifications.
If you’re curious about this methodology and what it can mean for your own website projects, feel free to reach out—we’d be happy to exchange ideas and feedback.
